A PLACE FOR A Solution

Firebox Replacement

Refurbishing and Retro-Fit

Does your smoker need a little TLC? Matt's BBQ Pits offers a variety of services for refurbishing. It doesn't matter who manufactured your pit. You may recognize some other builders below we fixed up. We can build new meat racks, patch holes to keep you going longer, set down lid trim flush, install new fireboxes, and paint to help it look fresh again. We also retro-fit smokers. We have added fireboxes, added vertical cabinets, modified for new features, insulated fireboxes, etc.

How It Works

To start you can call us and send photos of the smoker you need to have worked on. We will give you a ball park quote of what the job takes. Not all smokers would be worth the work but you may have a practical refurbishing job. Next you would bring it to us and I can look it over and tell if it needs patch work or new firebox. At that time I can give you a pretty firm quote. Firebox prices will vary depending on the style, size, and steel thickness. We usually ask for 50% to start and the balance when completed.

About Re-Painting

We sand down the paint where it needs sanding. Then we use a bbq pit paint that works best for older used smokers and we let you know what to use in order to keep it fresh looking over the years as smokers do need often touch ups. Sometimes paint can have some adhesion issues on older fatigued pitted metals or if excessive oil and grease was on it. Expect a little of that. So it will be up to you to keep it touched up but we can guide you into using the best paint for this like I use on my old smoker.
